"He’s big, fast and strong and he’s had an incredible summer. Coach Schmidt can’t say enough about him. He’s up to 218 to 220 and he has every bit of the speed he had a year ago. He looks great and he’s worked hard. " -Bob Stoops
Adrian Peterson ripped up the NCAA during his freshman campaign, and was among consideration in the Heisman Trophy balloting. (The award was won by Matt Leinart.) His sophomore year the Sooners offense was not the same as the year before, and they missed QB Jason White. Peterson suffered an injury that briefly slowed him down, but will be back this year and is expected to make a huge impact in the Big 12.
Petersons 4.4 40 yard dash has attracted NFL scouts for the past couple years. His ability to break tackles is highly underrated, for a back under 230 lbs he can truck opposing defenders and break tackles.
