Zinedine Zidane
Retired Soccer Player
Nicknamed Zizou, Zidane starred for club teams and the French national team. He helped France win the 1998 World Cup as the host nation by scoring two goals on headers against Brazil. Zidane is often considered to be the best footballer of his generation, and one of the greatest of all time. A midfielder who can dribble, see the field, create space, and score goals, he was an enigmatic leader who also excelled at free kicks and penalty shots. Most recently, he led France to the World Cup Final against Italy, but was sent off in the second overtime for head-butting an Italian player. A remarkable player who will not be forgotten, he also enjoyed success with Real Madrid in their glory years while playing along side of David Beckham, Raul, Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, and many other International superstars.
